What is smokey ice makeup
Literally translated from English, it means “smoky eye”. This makeup technique lives up to its name. A dragging look is achieved through the correct shading of the used shadows. There is a misconception that smokey ice is makeup done in black tones. This is not entirely true. Rather, it is the effect of a smooth transition of dark shadows to lighter ones. It can be done using any shade of eyeshadow. It all depends on the preferences of the woman. For an evening version, a dark color scheme is ideal, and for a daytime and office version, a muted palette of shadows is ideal.
Smoky eye makeup: rules and nuances
The main rule when creating smoky makeup is good shading of shadows, a clear traced contour of the lower and upper eyelashes, as well as a thick layer of mascara. Do not forget that the image should be as harmonious as possible. To do this, shades of shadows need to be selected not only to your taste, but also to match the color of your eyes, hair and skin.
Smokey ice means an emphasis on the eyes, so lip makeup is best done in muted shades.
For brown-eyed, both classic black and brown-olive, and purple shades of shadows are ideal. Those with green eyes should choose chocolate, golden, dark green or purple shades. Purple, pale pink, bright blue and gray-brown shades are perfect for blue-eyed beauties. Gray-eyed ones should pay attention to bronze, sand, dark blue, chocolate and green shadows.
Try a classic smoky look with dark eyeshadow. To do this, stock up on three close shades of eyeshadow, black pencil and volumetric mascara.
This makeup is unthinkable without a primer – a special base that is applied to the eyelids before applying shadows. You can do without any foundation, but with it the make-up will be more persistent, and the shades of the shadows will be more saturated.
Apply the black pencil as close to the lash line as possible, and then blend the line with special care. It is not at all necessary to make it perfectly flat.
Use a brush or applicator to apply the lightest shade of eyeshadow to the entire movable eyelid on the pencil base. Blend the borders of the application.
Apply a lighter shade from the middle of the upper eyelid to the outer corner of the eye and blend it as well. Now connect the fold and the line of growth of the cilia with the darkest shade.
Line up the lower eyelid with a black pencil and blend it. You can safely go to the mucous membrane of the eye.
If you have small eyes, be careful with the lower eyelid, do not draw the mucous with a pencil. Otherwise, they will seem even smaller.
Thoroughly paint over the lower and upper lashes with black mascara. The lower cilia should be most intensively painted over at the outer corner of the eye. For more effect, you can use false eyelashes.
