Scientists have told which part of the apple is the most useful

Austrian scientists from the Technical University of Graz have shown that by eating a medium-sized apple, we absorb more than 100 million beneficial bacteria.

In the study, experts compared apples purchased in supermarkets with organic apples that were not treated with pesticides, which were of the same variety and had a similar appearance. Experts carefully examined all parts of the apples, including the stems, skin, flesh and seeds.

Although the researchers concluded that both types of apples contained the same number of bacteria, their diversity was quite different. The greatest variety of bacteria was characteristic of organic apples, which probably makes them healthier than ordinary inorganic apples. According to researchers, these bacteria play an important role in maintaining the intestinal microbiome, which is known to help reduce the risk of allergies and improve mental health.

Where beneficial bacteria are hidden in the apple

It is noted that while the average apple weighing 250 g contains about 100 million bacteria, 90% of this amount, oddly enough, is contained – in the seeds! While the pulp accounts for the remaining 10% of bacteria.

In addition, experts say that organic apples are tastier than conventional ones, as they contain much larger bacteria of the family Methylobacterium, which enhance the biosynthesis of compounds responsible for the pleasant taste.

We will remind, earlier we told about what fruits and berries are more useful to eat with stones and advised where to go to try black apples.
