Even in times of total shortage, she was a fairly frequent guest on the tables of Russians, and many housewives managed to cook a wide variety of dishes from her. Today, when there is a fairly large selection of both sea and river fish in stores, pollock is not so popular, but you can still cook tasty and healthy dishes from it at an affordable price.

Pollock meat is rich in vitamins and easily digestible proteins, it contains phosphorus, potassium, iodine, and the liver of the pollock contains even more vitamin A than the liver of cod. Despite this, Pollock is not very popular with cooks, since its meat does not have a pronounced taste. But for a skilled housewife, this disadvantage can turn into an advantage, because in this case, the neutral taste of pollock meat can be supplemented with the taste of other products and prepared tasty and healthy dishes from it.

How to cook pollock fillet pancakes

Fritters prepared according to this recipe can even be prepared for breakfast – they are high in protein and carbohydrates, which nutritionists recommend including in the first meal. You will need the following products: – 500 g of pollock fillets; – 2 small onions; – 3 eggs; – 4 tablespoons. flour; – 3 tbsp. sour cream; – ground black pepper; – 3 tbsp. vegetable oil; – salt.

Defrost the frozen pollock, leaving it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator overnight. Do not defrost fish in running water

Rinse the fillets and pat dry with kitchen paper towels. Boil water in a saucepan and when it boils, put pollock in it for 5 minutes. Remove fish, chill slightly, skin and remove bones if present. Pass the boiled fillet through a meat grinder or remember it with a fork, put in a bowl.

Chop the onion finely, put in a preheated pan. Fry the onions until golden brown, then add them to the fish. Whisk the eggs lightly, add flour and sour cream, stir and pour the mixture into a bowl. Salt and pepper, knead the minced meat well. Add oil to a preheated skillet and fry the pancakes, placing them in the pan using a tablespoon. Serve sprinkled with fresh, finely chopped herbs.

Pollock baked with apples

For this amazingly tasty and tender dish you will need: – 500 g of pollock fillet; – 2 sweet and sour apples; – 1 large onion; – 1 tbsp. soy sauce; – 1 small carrot; – spices for fish: ground coriander, black pepper, dry ginger; – 2 tbsp. olive oil; – salt.

Rinse pollock fillets, dry, salt, pepper, sprinkle with spices, pour soy sauce and leave at room temperature for half an hour. In a well-heated skillet, fry the onion, cut into half rings, until translucent. Add coarse grated carrots and blanch for 5-6 minutes. Remove the pan from the stove. Peel the apples, grate on a coarse grater, add to the pan, stir.

Put half the contents of the pan on a sheet of foil, spread in an even layer. Put pollock fillets on top, the carcasses should lie tightly to each other. Put the remaining vegetables and apples on top of the fish, wrap the foil in an envelope, put on a baking sheet and send to the oven preheated to 200 ° C for 25 minutes.
