Chicken legs are an affordable product that can be found in any store. Fried or baked chicken legs, thighs or drumsticks are loved by both adults and children. In the oven, chicken legs can be baked in many ways, but the result will always be great.

Chicken legs baked in onion-sour cream sauce

For this dish for 4 people, you will need: – 1 kg of chicken legs; – 200 g of hard cheese; – 1 carrot; – 2 large onions; – 2 tbsp. flour; – 200 g sour cream; – 100 g dry white wine; – ½ tsp. grated nutmeg; – ground black pepper; – 2 tbsp. olive oil; – ½ tsp. salt.

Wash the legs and pat dry each well with a kitchen paper towel. Place in a bowl, sprinkle with pepper, salt, stir in nutmeg and leave for 20-25 minutes. Heat the olive oil vigorously in a skillet, put the legs in one layer. If there is not enough space, fry the legs in several stages. Fry each piece on all sides until golden brown. Place the chicken legs in the bottom of the baking dish.

When cooking chicken meat, you should not abuse a lot of spices and herbs, the natural aroma and taste of the chicken should be preserved.

In the pan where the chicken was fried, put the onion cut into half rings, fry until golden brown, add the carrots grated on a coarse grater, blanch for 3-4 minutes. Add flour, stir and sauté with onions and carrots for another 2-3 minutes. While stirring, pour dry wine into the pan, add sour cream. Stir the contents of the pan, bring to a boil and remove from the stove.

Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Add ¾ of the total cheese to the sauce. Pour the chicken legs with sour cream and onion sauce, put them in the oven, preheated to 200 ° C, for 30 minutes. After this time, remove the pan, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the legs and bake for another 10 minutes.

Chicken legs baked in dough

For this dish you will need: – 5–6 chicken drumsticks; – grated nutmeg; – 2-3 cloves of garlic; – some spicy dry herbs: basil, oregano, thyme; – 2 tbsp. soy sauce; – salt; – ground black pepper; – 2 tbsp. olive oil; – 1 pack of puff yeast-free dough.

Wash and dry the legs. Baked in dough, they will be much tastier if you marinate them for at least 2-3 hours beforehand. Put them in a bowl, add soy sauce, herbs, nutmeg on the tip of a knife, pepper and just a little salt. Put the garlic, passed through the press, into the meat. Mix everything well, cover and leave to stand at room temperature. Defrost the puff pastry.

Heat olive oil in a frying pan, fry the legs on all sides until golden brown. Put out of the pan and cool. Roll out a square sheet of puff pastry slightly, cut lengthwise into strips about 2 cm wide. Wrap the dough strips around each leg, overlapping them so that the meat is not visible. Place the legs in the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and brush over with a beaten egg. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 200 ° C for 35-40 minutes.
