Parchment breast (lat. Lactarius pergamenus or Peppered milk) is a fungus in the genus Lactarius (lat. Lactarius) of the Russulaceae family.

Description:

The cap of the Parchment Mushroom (Lactarius pergamenus) reaches up to 10 cm in diameter, flat-convex, then funnel-shaped. The color is white, turning yellow with the growth of the fungus. The surface is wrinkled or smooth. The pulp is white, bitter. Milky juice is white, does not change color in air. Records descending along the leg, frequent, yellowish. The leg is long, white, narrowed down.

Differences:

The parchment mushroom is very similar to the pepper mushroom, it differs from it in a longer stem and a slightly wrinkled hat.

Usage:

Parchment mushroom (Lactarius pergamenus) is a conditionally edible mushroom of the second category. Collected in August-September. .
