Oats are more than just a valuable spring cereal. It is also a popular drug widely used in traditional and folk medicine. Moreover, the “preparations” made from oats are highly effective.

The healing properties of oats

This crop has a rich chemical composition. So, its grains contain fats, proteins, starch and such essential amino acids as lysine and tryptophan. Oats also contain vitamins (there are a lot of vitamins of groups B and K), essential oils, gum, carotene, organic acids, iodine, iron, zinc, potassium, fluorine, manganese, nickel and other useful elements.

The starch present in the grains of this spring cereal saturates the body with “slow” energy, which prevents a sharp jump in blood sugar (this feature of oats is especially useful for those suffering from diabetes)

And “oat” protein is useful for tissue growth and repair. Vitamins and minerals, which are so rich in oat grains, participate in metabolic processes in the body, strengthen hair and nails, play an important role in the stable functioning of the nervous system, and also reduce the risk of developing various diseases. Also, oats normalizes the work of the pancreas and liver, has a beneficial effect on the activity of the thyroid gland.

Oatmeal and oatmeal are used in the treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases. So, for inflammatory processes in the stomach, oatmeal is used. And in homeopathy for anemia and asthenia, fortifying agents are prescribed, which include oatmeal.

But not only the grains of this agricultural crop have medicinal properties: green oat grass is no worse than grains in medicinal properties. The infusion prepared from it has an antipyretic, diuretic and diaphoretic effect.

The recipe for an effective drug is as follows:

  • 2 cups oat kernels
  • 1 liters of water
  • 1-1,5 tbsp honey

The oats used must be husked. The grains are poured with water, placed in a water bath and boiled until half the volume of the liquid has evaporated. After the broth is cooled and filtered through a strainer. Honey is added to the prepared “cocktail”. They drink this medicine, 150 ml three times a day, warm. Since such a “drug” is absolutely harmless, the treatment is carried out for a long time until there is an improvement. A decoction prepared according to this recipe relieves inflammation in the joints, has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, strengthens the nervous system and improves metabolism.

A bath with the addition of oat broth relieves inflammation and reduces pain.

For one procedure they take:

  • a bucket of water
  • 1-1,5 kg fresh oat straw

The straw is poured with water, brought to a boil and cooked for 13-15 minutes over low heat. Then the broth is cooled, filtered and added to a bath with warm water (the recommended water temperature is 36–37 ° C).

The straw should be fresh, there will not be much from the old effect

If the cough is dry, a medicine is prepared from:

  • 1 onions
  • 90-100 g of oat grains
  • 1 liters of water

The onion is peeled and chopped, after which the onion puree is mixed with oat grains, poured with water, brought to a boil and cooked for 40–43 minutes over low heat. The broth is cooled and taken 1 tbsp. 3-5 times a day.

With individual intolerance and stones in the gallbladder, treatment with oats is contraindicated

With a very strong dry cough, which is difficult to get rid of, prepare a “drug” from:

  • 1,5 l of oat grains
  • 2 liters of cow’s milk

The oats are poured over with milk and boiled in a water bath for 2,5–3 hours (the milk should turn yellow). The broth is cooled and filtered through double-folded gauze. Drink it ½ cup 4-6 times a day 27-30 minutes before meals.

And with asthmatic cough they take:

  • 1 l of oat grains
  • 1,5 liters of water

The healing properties of oats

Oats are crushed, poured with freshly boiled water and left to infuse overnight in a warm place. They drink the medicine ½ cup 3-4 times a day.

How to cleanse your liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal tract with oats

To prepare this drug, take the following components:

  • 3 liters of water
  • 1,5 l of oat grains

The oats are washed thoroughly, after which they are poured into an enamel bowl, poured with water and put on high heat, while the container is tightly closed with a lid. Immediately after boiling, the heat is reduced and the time is noted. The mixture is boiled for another 2 hours and 50 minutes. Before removing the dishes from the heat, check the condition of the grains: if they start to boil, then everything is in order, otherwise the grains are boiled for another 7-10 minutes. Then the mixture is cooled and the broth is decanted into a three-liter bottle. The grains are passed through a meat grinder and added to the strained broth. The missing volume is replenished with boiled water (water is boiled for 3-5 minutes and cooled to room temperature). The finished product is placed in the refrigerator.

They drink the “drug” in a warm form 6-7 times a day, regardless of meals: before use, the broth is slightly warmed up in a water bath

The prepared medicine will only last for 2 days. The treatment course is 2,5-3 months. In the first days of taking the “drug” urine will turn reddish, this is normal.
