Oatmeal cookies – how to choose

Today the project Control purchase (www.zakupka.tv) talks about how to choose the right oatmeal cookies.

In retail outlets, as a rule, oat cookies sold either by weight or already packaged.

The first one should be bought only in trusted stores, where, as you know for sure, the seller will not deceive you and will not mix fresh goods with old ones. This is done very often, for example, in the markets. As a result, one package contains both soft and crumbly biscuits and old, hard and brittle biscuits.

This happens less often with cookies already packed in a plastic bag. Just pay attention: the bag must be tightly sealed, and there must be no moisture inside.

Be sure to read the information on the packaging. According to GOST, oatmeal cookies should include premium wheat flour, oat flour, butter, vanillin, cinnamon and malt. Moreover, there should be more wheat flour than oatmeal.

The expiration date will also tell a lot about the composition of the product. If the period is about six months, then there are chemical additives in the cookies.

There should be no burnt copies in the packet of cookies. They are not only tasteless, but also unhealthy. The best option is if each cookie has a light back, and the edges and bottom are darker.

Intersperses of particles of sugar and fruit raw materials on the surface are allowed. But the wrong shape of the cookie is not allowed. She says that the manufacturing technology was grossly violated, as a result of which the dessert spread on the baking sheet. This is a serious reason to refuse a purchase.

Quality oat cookies should not be crunchy, too hard or, conversely, soft.

And also pay attention to the bottom of the package. Only one broken cookie can legally be present in a 250 gram pack. In a package weighing up to half a kilogram – no more than two. Brittleness of oatmeal cookies is not only a “” defect, it is an indicator that the product is overdried.
