No worse than the original: the parrot sang Beyoncé’s song and became famous

The bird’s voice was very similar to the voice of a pop diva.

The zoo staff in Lincolnshire, Britain, had no idea that they had such a talented guest. A nine-year-old parrot named Chico surprised everyone when he suddenly began to sing and released Beyoncé’s song “If I were a boy” to the audience – remember, she sang that in 2008?

One of the parrot concerts was filmed, and the video became truly viral: it got almost a thousand reposts only on the zoo’s Facebook page. Now thousands of visitors go to the zoo just to listen to Chico’s songs.

“I have been working with parrots for 25 years, but they never cease to amaze me. We even had trouble keeping social distance because of Chico’s popularity, ”said Lincolnshire Wildlife Park Director Steve Nichols, commenting on the pet’s singing talent.

The parrot’s repertoire is not limited to one song of Beyoncé. Employees say he sings other popular early noughties as well: Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” such as Katy Perry’s favorites.

Not to say that Chico sings songs from start to finish, but it seems that a few notes are enough for visitors to be delighted: after all, the bird not only does not out of tune, but also copies the performer’s voice very accurately.

Now Chico has his own Instagram page, where zoo staff promise to upload recordings of his mini-concerts. And almost 8 thousand people have already subscribed to it.

By the way, this is not the only quarantined parrot. In the same zoo, several birds had to be isolated from visitors: they learned to swear and shocked the families who came with their children with their cries.
