Microwave croutons: how to cook? Video

You can make sweet or salted crackers in the microwave, and they cook faster than in the oven. You can give preference to sweet croutons, make croutons or croutons for broth – it all depends on the selected type of bread and additives to it.

Croutons in the microwave

Such products can be prepared from any stale loaf or roll. Use honey, brown or regular sugar, molasses, and a variety of spices for sweet additions.

You will need: – 1 loaf; – 1 tablespoon of brown sugar; – 1 teaspoon of vanilla sugar.

Cut white bread into even thin slices. Mix brown sugar with vanilla sugar. Arrange the loaf pieces on a flat plate and sprinkle each with the sugar mixture. Place the plate in the microwave and turn it on at maximum power for 4 minutes. Let the bread crumbs stand in the oven and then turn it back on for 3 minutes.

Transfer the finished croutons to a basket and cool. Serve them with tea or coffee.

Salted croutons with herbs

These rusks can be a light beer snack or soup addition.

You will need: – a loaf of stale grain bread; – a mixture of dry herbs (celery, parsley, dill, basil, thyme); – olive oil; – fine salt; – ground black pepper.

Cut a loaf of cereal bread into thin slices, then turn them into neat cubes. Roasting will reduce the croutons, so don’t make the cubes too small. Pound the dried herbs in a mortar and mix with fine salt and freshly ground black pepper.

Try to make croutons with a ready-made mixture of Provencal herbs for a French-style snack. The best way to make it is from a dried baguette.

Arrange the bread in a single layer on a plate and drizzle with olive oil. Turn the bread cubes over and repeat the process. Sprinkle them with a mixture of salt and dried herbs and place them on a microwave-safe plate.

To make the crackers crisp, turn on the oven for 3 minutes, then open it, stir the crackers and turn on the microwave again for 3 minutes. Repeat frying one more time and then remove the crackers and refrigerate before serving.

Rye bread makes delicious garlic croutons, perfect for a light snack.

You will need: – 1 loaf of rye bread; – 2 cloves of garlic; – vegetable oil (olive, sunflower or soybean); – fine salt.

Cut the rye bread into slices. Cut the garlic cloves in half and rub the bread on both sides with them. Then cut it into thin strips. Sprinkle them with vegetable oil and lightly sprinkle with salt. Spread the breadcrumbs out on a flat plate and place in the microwave. Cook them as described above, then refrigerate and serve.
