The list of everything that melon pulp contains may seem frightening at first glance: water, sugars and starch, proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, free organic acids, potassium, iron, vitamins C, PP, B1, B2, carotene, folic acid, magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, honey, inositol, silicon … Abracadabra? Yes. But extremely useful. Let’s try to figure it out.

Folic acid extremely useful for the nervous system – it is responsible for emotional balance and good mood. AND magnesium very good for the heart muscle.

But the melon can not only be eaten. Adherents of traditional methods of treatment make lotions, compresses, drops, rinses and even baths from the melon! Whether all these remedies help with multiple ailments is a big question. But why not give it a try? Moreover, it is usually very pleasant.

Melon compress

Melon pulp compress on the chest relieves bronchitis, pneumonia and asthma attacks. Melon pulp and melon peels are advised to be applied to abscesses and bruises – it is believed that then they will pass faster.

How to eat a melon

The main rule is to eat only melon. Just do not think that we are urging you to abandon the rest of the products. The fact is that melon is a heavy product (just because of the fiber, which causes intestinal relaxation), it itself is a serious burden on the body. Therefore, mixing it with something else, especially with alcohol and dairy products, to put it mildly, is not worth it – the effect may be the most unexpected. It is best to eat the melon two hours before or after your main meal. And the main thing is to know when to stop: no matter how tasty this fragrant beauty is, you should not get carried away.

Who is not allowed to eat melon?

There are practically no such people. But in some cases, you should still be careful.

  • Nursing mothers should be especially careful – the baby may have problems with stool.
  • For a long time it was believed that melon is contraindicated for patients with diabetes – because of the large amount of various sugars in its pulp. Whether this is true or not is not fully known, so those who still have problems with blood sugar should not risk it.
  • With an ulcer of the stomach or duodenum, you will also have to refrain from this delicacy.
