Malaysia produces the first artificial pork

The Muslim religion is strong in Malaysia, which is known to prohibit the consumption of pork. But the demand for this product is nevertheless high. An interesting way to get around this ban, and at the same time to satisfy numerous buyers, was invented by the startup Phuture Foods.

The inventors figured out how to grow a pork analogue. To “grow”, as Phuture Foods produces plant-based pork using ingredients such as wheat, shiitake mushrooms and mung beans.

This product is halal, which means that Muslims can also eat it. It is also suitable for people who are interested in environmental protection.

Phuture Foods has already received support from investors in Hong Kong, so online sales of meat will be launched in the coming months, and then it will appear in local supermarkets. In the future, this startup intends to focus on the creation of substitutes for curtain and mutton.

Recall that earlier we told what kind of meat we are most likely to eat in 20 years, and also shared a recipe for how to marinate pork in Coca-Cola.
