Betaxolol is a substance belonging to the group of beta-blockers (beta-blockers), and its action blocks beta-adrenergic receptors. Beta-adrenergic receptors are found in muscle, nerve and gland cells in many tissues and organs of the human body. Adrenergic receptors are stimulated by adrenaline and noradrenaline, and blocking these receptors reduces the effects of adrenaline on our body. This process lowers blood pressure and reduces the heart rate and the strength of its contractions.
