Keeping warm and not gaining weight: what to eat in the fall

Sudden changes in the weather towards a colder temperature force us to involuntarily change our diet. The body often asks for more carbohydrates itself, and it is almost impossible to resist it. What is there on cold days to keep warm without gaining weight?

Hot soups

Hot soup is the best choice for the cold season. Soups are often made with the addition of carbohydrate-rich vegetables and meat broth to make them filling. Nutritionists recommend eating soup not for lunch, but for dinner, so that the body is warm throughout the night.

Of course, if you do not want to gain weight, then the soup should not be greasy. Ideal – light vegetable soup.

Whole-grain products

Whole grain breads and all kinds of side dishes provide plenty of energy to fuel on a cold day. Whole grains contain vitamin B and magnesium, which help the internal organs to smoothly regulate the level of heat and not waste it unnecessarily.

Ginger

Ginger has a warming effect due to the fact that it stimulates all tissues of the digestive system, forcing it to work harder. Ginger boosts immunity. It can be used in dessert dishes, soups and hot drinks.

Mild spices

Hot spices, of course, stimulate an increase in heat by increasing blood flow to organs and tissues of the whole body, but their effect is too rapid. Heat is generated just as quickly with sweat. But spices such as cinnamon, cumin, paprika, nutmeg and allspice increase metabolism and release heat gradually.

Coconut oil

Any fatty foods increase heat production, but also provoke weight gain. Coconut oil will not have this effect, and is useful both for ingestion and as a moisturizer for the whole body that will keep warm.
