The Ministry of Health has introduced restrictions on the prescription and dispensing of influenza vaccines per patient. An announcement on this issue was published on Thursday.

Maciej Miłkowski, deputy head of the ministry, spoke about the possibility of issuing a rationing announcement in recent days. He explained that it was supposed to eliminate the possibility of prescribing a few or a dozen doses of the vaccine for one person.

From September 18, there will be a limit on the amount spent per patient aged 9 and over. – at a pharmacy or pharmacy – Fluarix Tetra or Influvac Tetra, or Vaxigrip Tetra.

The announcement includes, inter alia, dose, form, package size, GTIN code or other code corresponding to the GTIN code, the number of packages that can be dispensed to the patient in a specific time unit and the unit of time for which the medicinal product may be dispensed (180 days).

Experts say flu vaccination is particularly important in the 2020/2021 season, as it coincides with the COVID-19 pandemic. There is no vaccine against the coronavirus on the market yet.
