How “tonal for a year” changes the skin: before and after photos

Understanding the pros, cons and the effect of the bb-glow procedure.

BB-glow is a procedure that came to us from Asia, where girls are simply obsessed with an even, ideal complexion. What is its essence? The toning pigment is implanted into the skin by injection. This process can be compared to permanent makeup. Only we do not paint eyebrows or lips, but the whole face. But the effect promises an amazing: for at least a year you will walk with smooth and as if radiant skin, and no foundation is needed anymore.

We offer you to see how the result looks not on the stars, but on ordinary women, but at the same time to figure out, together with a professional cosmetologist, the pitfalls of the BB-glow procedure, to find out all the pros and cons of “foundation for a year”.

 – BB Glow is a minimally invasive procedure in which serum is injected into the upper layers of the dermis using a special dermapen pen with micro and nano needles. Thus, the coloring matter (titanium dioxide), hyaluronic acid, and a complex of vitamins enter the skin. After the introduction of the drug, the skin becomes smoother, the pores are narrowed, the complexion is evened out, and the dermis receives maximum hydration. Among other things, fine wrinkles are smoothed out, acne traces become less noticeable, and the face becomes healthier and more fresh. This is what we are promised.

But as a dermatologist, cosmetologist, I have many questions and, rather, a negative attitude towards this procedure.

To begin with, this procedure cannot be called curative. This is an aesthetic procedure aimed not at eliminating pathological conditions of the skin (pigmentation, spots and post-acne scars, uneven complexion, rosacea, rosacea, enlarged pores), but at masking them.

The effect of the introduction of this serum with hyaluronic acid into the upper layers of the skin will not give you deep and long-term hydration of the skin, but only moisturize the epidermis, “tighten” it and give a visual effect of hydration. If you just want to moisturize the skin, there are other recommended procedures, such as biorevitalization (the introduction of hyaluronic acid deep into the dermis).

The developers of the method claim that the tone is injected into the upper layers of the epidermis. The question arises: how is it possible to maintain such a long-term effect? After all, the epidermis is cells that are gradually exfoliated from the surface of the skin and are completely renewed within 28-30 days. Therefore, the effect of the “eternal foundation” cannot last longer than a month. Based on the fact that BB Glow promises an effect for a year, we can assume that the drug is injected a little deeper, under the epidermis, which means there is a risk of skin infection, since this coloring serum is non-sterile.

In addition, an allergic reaction to the injected serum with a tone is possible. Think of the times when you buy a new foundation and get a face with red spots that itches and swells. There is only one way out – to throw this tool away and not use it anymore. And what will happen if you also have an allergic reaction to the injected foundation during the BB Glow procedure? It is already impossible to remove this remedy with allergic components from the skin. Therefore, if you are allergic, think a hundred times before doing such a procedure.

There is one more risk: having done such a procedure, in the summer you risk getting a “leopard” instead of the promised even tone of the face. The fact is that the sloughing of the epidermis over time will lead to the formation of clear boundaries between the pigment and the native skin color, and, having received a portion of the sun’s rays, the skin will tan unevenly.

In addition, if you plan to treat skin or prevent aging, after BB-glow the cosmetologist may refuse to use hardware techniques. The coloring tonal component can cause risks of complications and side effects during laser procedures.

And the main thing to remember: the effectiveness of “tonal for a year” has not yet been proven by scientific research. Instead of giving a perfectly even complexion, bb-glow, on the contrary, can sometimes lead to serious undesirable phenomena.

At the same time, many girls still try on themselves a procedure that masks skin imperfections. More real photos before and after – in our photo gallery.
