How to protect suede shoes
After purchase, suede shoes should be treated with a special water-repellent spray that will protect them from dampness. Spread the boots out and spray them with a spray bottle on both sides until the suede is damp. Then dry the shoes at room temperature and repeat the treatment 2-3 more times. Shoes and shoes are processed in the same way.
Dry your suede shoes at room temperature before cleaning them. Shoe stores sell special rubber-toothed brushes to remove stains from suede, but you can use an old toothbrush or pencil eraser. Dust from the pile is well removed with a dry dish sponge.
If it was not possible to remove stains with a dry brush, use special means for caring for suede or prepare such a remedy according to a folk recipe. Dissolve soap or dishwashing liquid in water and add a few drops of ammonia. Whip the composition into a lather and apply it with a sponge to the contaminated surface, and then remove the foam with a clean dry sponge or cloth. Dilute a teaspoon of vinegar in a liter of water and wipe cleaned areas with a soft cloth dampened with this solution to neutralize the alkaline environment. Leave the shoes to dry at room temperature after cleaning.

You can use a solution of baking soda in skim milk as a cleaning agent. Dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of milk, soak a sponge in this solution and rub the soiled area. There is another way: sprinkle the greasy stain with starch and leave for a while, then remove with a clean dry brush or sponge. Instead of starch, you can use talc, to which a few drops of gasoline are added. After treating the suede with a soda solution, starch or talcum powder, wipe cleaned areas with a clean damp cloth and leave to dry at room temperature.
How to clean salt from suede boots
If salt stains appear on suede shoes, first remove the dust from it with a dry brush or sponge, then soak the sponge in 9% vinegar and remove the salt stains. After handling, wipe the shoes with a damp soft cloth and dry at room temperature. You can also clean up a salt stain with a stale crust of rye bread.
Steam for a few minutes to remove stubborn salt, but be careful not to get the suede wet. To do this, carry out the procedure in several stages: hold over the steam, then leave to dry. After steam treatment, you can use an old toothbrush to pick up the fluff on greasy areas.
