The very word “hemorrhoids” sounds somehow unpleasant. The manifestations of this disease are all the more unpleasant. For many women, the problem first occurs or worsens during pregnancy and after childbirth. It is known that in women who have given birth, the disease occurs 5 times more often than in women who have not given birth. And most often for those over thirty.

Hemorrhoids during pregnancy

Some women, knowing about the existence of this disease, consider its manifestations during pregnancy or after childbirth to be inevitable and therefore do not attach much importance to it.

Others mistakenly associate symptoms manifestations of hemorrhoids with symptoms of the course of the disease itself. Where does this disease come from and how does it manifest?

Causes:

– Hemorrhoids – varicose veins in the anus. During pregnancy, hemorrhoids occur due to stagnation of blood with an increase in intra-abdominal pressure. Often the occurrence of hemorrhoids provoke constipation.

Symptoms:

– unpleasant sensations of pain in the anus, especially after a bowel movement, – the most common manifestation of hemorrhoids;

– irritation of the skin around the anus;

– itching, burning in the anus;

– bloody discharge from the rectum after a bowel movement;

– the appearance in the area of the anus of nodes (cones), multiple or single, blue-purple, rather dense.

Often in expectant mothers, hemorrhoids proceed without any manifestations: women do not show complaints characteristic of hemorrhoids, but hemorrhoids are found during examination.

Possible complications of hemorrhoids:

– thrombophlebitis (inflammation) of the nodes: the nodes become dense, painful, while emptying the intestines, the woman experiences sharp pain;

– pinching of the nodes: pain in the anus, intoxication, fever.

How to prevent illness?

Preventing illness is much easier than curing it. By following these simple recommendations, you can significantly reduce the risk of developing hemorrhoids:

  1. It is necessary to regulate the work of the intestines, this can be achieved with a diet rich in vegetables, fruits and fiber. All fatty, smoked, spicy foods should be excluded.
  2. Hygiene of the anus is very important. You need to wash yourself with cool water after each bowel movement.
  3. You should move more, do gymnastics, run, swim, etc. But everything should be in moderation: avoid overloading and lifting weights.
  4. When the first symptoms of hemorrhoids appear, you should immediately consult a doctor.

After pregnancy, it’s time for happy motherhood. Hemorrhoids can cause discomfort and pain for a young mother. And after childbirth and the end of breastfeeding, every day there is less free time – all the woman’s attention is riveted on the baby. But it is during this period that you should listen to your body, find out the symptoms of hemorrhoids in time, consult a doctor and start treatment in order to prevent possible complications in time.

Treatment should begin with the fact that together with the doctor, determine the symptom that worries the most. If bleeding and itching are the predominant symptoms, then it is advisable to use an ointment or candles “Relief”which contain phenylephrine, which has a vasoconstrictor effect and is good for edema, bleeding, itching.

Edema and bleeding are, of course, unpleasant symptoms, but if aching and acute pain begins to bother, all other manifestations of the disease fade into the background. And here the drug of choice becomes «Relief Advance »containing an active anesthetic for local anesthesia, which has an analgesic effect within 1-3 minutes.

An important point is that all drugs in the “Relief” line are available in two forms – ointments and suppositories. The ointment is used to treat mainly external hemorrhoids, but suppositories are preferred in the case of internal hemorrhoids.

In addition, all “Relief” preparations are created on the basis of a natural ingredient – shark liver oil, containing a wide range of biologically active substances that restore the affected area, heal wounds and have an anti-inflammatory effect.

Thus, the drugs “Relief” and “Relief Advance” help to get rid of the symptoms of this unpleasant disease.

There are contraindications for use. It is necessary to read the instructions.
