Halloween is an alien holiday for our country, it has Celtic roots and has been celebrated violently and noisily since pagan times. The main attribute of this holiday is, of course, Jack’s lamp. According to legend, Jack was a greedy and cunning man who made a deal with the Devil and after his death could not go to heaven or hell, and now he wanders and blesses the road with his lantern for all lost souls.

No matter how many legends go around this strange holiday, many in our camp still celebrate it because it is a reason to have fun, dress up and set the table for a themed party. In this article, we propose to prepare 6 dishes for a theme party. They will be not only interestingly decorated, but also very tasty!

 

Guacamole in a pumpkin head

As we have already said, Jack’s Lamp is an integral part of the holiday. It is made from a pumpkin in which a funny or scary face is carved. We suggest placing a pumpkin in the shape of this lamp on the table and filling it with the famous guacamole appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado – 1 pc.
  • Tomato – 1 pcs.
  • Potato chips – 150 gr.
  • Lemon juice – 2 tsp
  • Spices – 1 tablespoon
  • Pumpkin (for serving) – 0 gr.

How to cook guacamole in a pumpkin head

 

Cooking a snack will not take a lot of time. You need to take a ripe avocado, remove the bone from it and peel it, and mash the pulp with a fork. Chop the tomato and add to the avocado along with the spices, salt and lemon juice. Mix everything until smooth and put in a pumpkin, as shown in the photo. Traditionally, guacamole is served with corn chips, but potato chips are also fine. If you don’t want to use chips, you can serve guacamole with croutons or even plain bread slices.

Cookies “Witch’s Fingers”

Almost everyone cooks these funny cookies for a holiday. We offer you our own version using whole grain flour. It turns out as tasty and aromatic as from premium flour. These cookies will be the first to leave the table, they are so delicious!

 

Ingredients:

  • Wheat flour, premium grade – 100 gr.
  • Whole wheat flour – 200 gr.
  • Butter – 100 gr.
  • Sugar – 100 gr.
  • Egg – 1 pcs.
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Vanillin – 1 tsp
  • Almonds – 13 pcs.

How to make Witch’s Fingers cookies

 

Take softened butter, add an egg and sugar to it (if you want to reduce calories, replace sugar with erythritol). Use a blender to stir until smooth. The sugar should dissolve. Gradually adding flour, sifted with baking powder and vanilla, knead the dough. It should be flexible and should not stick to your hands. Divide the dough into 13-15 pieces and roll the sausages into the shape of your fingers, use almonds as a nail. It needs to be lightly pressed into the finger. Also, you can make notches with a knife to simulate folds of skin on the joints. Put the future cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment and bake for 15 minutes at 180 degrees.

Cemetery dessert

This is a portioned dessert that is easy and quick to prepare and will not go unnoticed on the table. The ingredients in the recipe are listed for three servings, but you are looking at the number of guests. It will be a shame if someone does not get it. Chocolate lovers will love this dessert!

 

Ingredients:

  • Chocolate – 90 gr.
  • Cream – 150 ml.
  • Cream Cheese – 60 gr.
  • Oreo Original cookies – 50 g.
  • Bondi Hippo baby biscuits with iodine – 20 gr.

How to make dessert “Graves”

 

We will prepare this dessert in two stages: first, we will prepare the base, then everything for decoration. So, first of all, you need to melt the chocolate in a water bath with the addition of a small amount of cream (about 100 ml). Save one teaspoon of chocolate right away for decoration. Combine the melted chocolate with the cream cheese and the remaining cream for the dessert base (calorizer). For decoration, crush the Oreo cookies into small crumbs using a blender or rolling pin. Oval cookies (we used children’s cookies), you need to arrange them in the form of gravestones and write the appropriate inscriptions, draw crosses and cobwebs. At this point, how your imagination runs wild. It is convenient to paint the cookies with a toothpick with melted chocolate.

Let’s start assembling the cookies.

Put the chocolate cream in any mold, immerse the gravestone cookies in it and sprinkle with Oreo earth. Looks impressive, doesn’t it?

Witch’s Whisk Snack

Witches, covens, ghosts, vampires and other evil spirits – all this is an integral part of the atmosphere of this holiday. We invite you to complement the table with a simple but appropriate snack of the Broomstick. Cooking a snack takes a couple of minutes, and the table complements.

Ingredients:

  • Salted straws – 5 gr.
  • Hochland Processed Cheese Sandwich Slices – 160 gr.
  • Greens – 1 gr.

How to cook “Witch’s Brooms”

Make cuts on the cheese slice, 2–3 cm away from the edge. Place the stick of straws on the edge of the cheese slice. Roll up, as if rolling a roll, and decorate with herbs. Place the panicles on a plate and refrigerate. It is better to serve cool so that the processed cheese does not lose its shape ahead of time.

Jelly eyes

Of course, there should be drinks on every festive table. You can make punch or compote as a drink for Halloween. In our case, the cherry compote is mixed with the sprite in one-to-one proportions. Well, in order to make it terrifying, let’s add jelly eyes to it.

Ingredients:

  • Milk – 150 ml.
  • Cherry juice – 100 ml.
  • Blueberries – 12 pcs.
  • Gelatin – 10 g.

How to make jelly eyes

To make jelly eyes, we need two colors of jelly: white and red, as well as any dark berries, such as blueberries. According to the instructions on the gelatin bag, prepare jelly from milk and cherry juice. We also need a silicone mold, it is better if it is a sphere, but hemispheres will also work. Place blueberries in the center of each mold and pour in cherry jelly – this will be the pupil and iris. Refrigerate for 15 minutes to set the jelly. Then fill the molds to the top with milk jelly and refrigerate for a couple of hours. It is better to prepare such eyes the day before and let them harden well. This dessert can be served as an independent dish, you can decorate them with any other sweet desserts or, as in our version, add to drinks.

Spider’s Nest salad

This salad will look great on the table and will most likely take center stage. The salad is based on an egg mixture that you can change to your liking, for example, add greens or replace crab sticks with something else. The main thing is that the salad keeps its shape well.

Ingredients:

  • Hard-boiled chicken eggs – 5 pcs.
  • Crab sticks – 350 gr.
  • Processed cheese – 180 gr.
  • Calve Extra Light Mayonnaise – 3 tbsp
  • Olives – 350 gr.

How to make Spider’s Nest salad

First of all, grate the crab sticks, eggs and cream cheese on a grater. It is better to freeze the cheese a little, so it will rub better. Combine the ingredients in a salad bowl and season with mayonnaise. Place the mixture on a flat plate and form two balls, one larger and one smaller. Cut half the olives into two parts and line them with the head and abdomen of the spider. Make legs with skewers and olives. The spider has 8 legs, but with six it looks quite harmonious. You can also paint his eyes with ketchup drops.
