The fruit diet is one of the diets that will help you lose weight at the same time, and on the other hand will strengthen the body and allow the digestive system to rest from the food ingredients of everyday products. However, a fruit diet should be interspersed with a more balanced and natural diet, only in this way will it have only positive effects on our body.

Time in the fruit diet

Using only a fruit diet, you should manage your time properly. The diet itself cannot exceed 3-4 days. Fruit as part of everyday food is a great addition, but eating only fruit can not last longer than the mentioned period of time.

Assumptions of the fruit diet

  • Exclusion from the diet of all other ingredients, except fruit
  • You can eat any fruit you like
  • Ban on eating dried fruit
  • The fruit can be used to cook stews or cocktails. They can be stewed, boiled, baked or simply eaten raw
  • It is worth preparing tasty and nutritious fruit salads, which can be sprinkled with water and lemon juice, which gives an even better taste
  • Between fruit meals, drink only still mineral water, herbal infusions or green tea

Effect of fruit diet on slimming

During the 4-day diet, you can lose up to 3 kg. However, you should be careful about the amount of fluid intake so as not to dehydrate the body and that weight loss is not caused by excessive loss of water from the body. The fruit diet is low in calories, but you should also pay attention to the number of calories in the fruit you eat, e.g. bananas have quite a lot of them.

The benefits of a fruit diet

Fruits contain large amounts of fiber, especially in their skin. Therefore, it is better to eat fruit with the skin (e.g. apples) instead of peeling the skin first. Fiber helps in improving the intestinal and gastric system by accelerating metabolism. Fruits contain all the vitamins, macro- and microelements needed by the body.

The fruit diet is a great springboard for the body from everyday, hard-to-digest meals. However, it should be used in moderation, preferably only for one day, e.g. during holidays, when a lot of fresh fruit is at your fingertips.

Disadvantages of the fruit diet

Unfortunately, the low calorific value of fruit and the smaller amount of other nutrients in them makes this diet impossible to use for a long time. In the fruit we will not find sufficient amounts of protein, calcium, polyunsaturated fatty acids or large amounts of B vitamins.

The fruit diet can also not be used by people at risk of diabetes or suffering from diabetes. Before using the diet, you should also assess your body’s ability to process large amounts of fiber and simple sugars. Using a diet can end up with unpleasant diarrhea and other ailments from the digestive system. So it is best to follow the diet at home, no longer than the appointed time.
