Carp
This representative of the ichthyofauna in the region is most often fished on a feeder or, in extreme cases, on a float tackle. You can find it in all reservoirs with stagnant water, while trophy specimens up to 10 kg in weight were often fished out at the Ob reservoir.
To catch such an animal, you should carefully prepare, the fishing line or cord for the base is taken thicker, if, of course, it is planned to fish on a reservoir or a large lake.
In small reservoirs, carps do not have time to grow large, the maximum that came across was a little more than 2 kilos.
It is imperative to use bait, most often carp responds well to self-prepared options from corn grits, but some types of purchased ones can lure worthy options.
Crucian
This type of peaceful fish in Novosibirsk and its environs is most often fished with float tackle; in some reservoirs, with a license, it is allowed to catch it with nets for industrial purposes.
When collecting floats, it is worth considering the place of the intended fishing, where large specimens live, it is advisable to put a thicker base. The presence of leashes is mandatory, many reservoirs are snarled and it is quite difficult to avoid hooks. The float is taken sensitive so that it can show even a small bite. With hooks, you should not grind too much, unless of course you want to have trophy specimens in the cage.
Bream
This representative of the ichthyofauna in the region is more than enough, it is mainly fished with feeder gear on the rivers, the Ob reservoir and on the middle lakes of the region. The blank is chosen stronger, equipped with a powerful coil and good quality braid. It is advisable to take feeders for feeding, so it will be easier to attract bream to the bait baited on the hook.
Bait will help in fishing, without it the feeder tackle will not work. Both vegetable and animal variants are used as bait. The favorite delicacy of bream in the region at any time of the year is the worm, as experienced anglers say.
Some are successful in catching bream with float gear, while it is better to give preference to distant casting. It is necessary to equip it with a heavy float with a high antenna, but any hooks will do.
To catch bream, it is better to give preference to self-securing hooks, then the minimum hooking will be able to hold the trophy without problems.
Catfish
Of course, it will not work to catch a catfish in a small lake; they are engaged in the capture of such an animal in larger reservoirs. The Ob reservoir and the Ob and Irtysh rivers are ideal for this.
Tackle for catfish must be strong, because here you can catch a trophy specimen. Donks and snacks, equipped with high-quality thick fishing line, work great. You can use different things as bait, catfish will respond well to:
- a bunch of worms;
- pieces of rotten meat;
- chicken liver;
- frogs;
- a piece of fish “smell”;
- mussels or shrimp.
Vegetable baits for this representative of the ichthyofauna are not interesting, all anglers know about it.
Pike
Catching a toothy predator is carried out with the help of spinning rods, while fishing can be done both along rivers and small lakes. The most commonly used baits are:
- vibrations;
- large turntables;
- silicone baits with a jig head;
- wobbler.
More experienced fishermen are excellent at attracting pike to live bait, for this they use float tackle with a heavier float.
It is necessary to equip the spinning blank with a high-quality cord, its diameter largely depends on the baits used and the test on the rod. Local anglers with experience recommend using braids from 0 diameter and above. But you should not put thick cords either, they use 16 mm as much as possible.

Perch
There are a lot of striped inhabitants in the reservoirs of Novosibirsk and the region, in some it can be small, while others are distinguished by the large size of the predator. Most often, fishing is done with a spinning blank, and it is preferable to use medium jigsaws and not small silicone. For an artificial fish, you can make a movable installation through an offset with Cheburashka, but the jig head works just as well. In some reservoirs, excellent performance can be achieved with acid-colored wobblers, perch rushes at them almost immediately.
Rotan, ruff, gudgeon
In small and large rivers, there are also smaller fish, there are a lot of rotan, ruffs, minnows here. They fish them on a float tackle, or rather they fall on the hook themselves. Small individuals are usually released, larger specimens end up in the anglerfish cage.
As a bait, any of the options for animal bait is perfect:
- worm;
- maggot;
- bloodworm.
You can catch both on a single option, and combine several types. It bites especially well on a sandwich of worm and maggot.
Other types of fish can also become trophies for fishermen in Novosibirsk and the region, the most common trophies are bream, silver bream, and minnow.
Lakes of Novosibirsk

Dzerzhinets

The pond allows you to fish both from the boat and from the shore. The presence of a watercraft will allow you to use the float gear to the fullest; when fishing from the coastline, it is better to use a feeder. There is no predator in the reservoir, so spinningists cannot be found here.
Lake on Gusinobrodskoe highway
This reservoir is not known to everyone, and without knowing for sure, it is unlikely that a fisherman will wander here by chance. But here are experienced spinningists, lovers of perch fishing, they visit the lake regularly. There are a lot of striped whales here, and the sizes are trophy.
