In Europe, as much as 27 percent. women aged 40-80 are not interested in sex. In the US, it is suspected that there are even more of them.
From the research presented by prof. Alessandra Graziottin from the Center of Gynecology and Sexology in Milan shows that 29 European women aged 18 to 70 complain of a reduced sex drive. 22 percent experiences desire disorders, 19 have difficulty achieving orgasm, and 14 percent. feels pain during intercourse.
The cause of these disorders may be hormonal disorders, related to, for example, menopause, as well as diseases, mainly of the circulatory system, and mood disorders – said Prof. Zbigniew Lew-Starowicz. He stressed, however, that sexual ailments in most cases can be successfully treated, both with medication and psychotherapy.
The specialist urged women with sexual problems to report to a sexologist together with a partner, because the effects of treatment are the best then. The same is also the case of men who complain about decreased libido, impotence and premature ejaculation.
“Joint therapy always brings better results, unfortunately in our country only 10 percent. people come to a sexologist with a partner “- added the specialist.
