DIY pillow decor
We design a fashionable interior accessory that can also become an original gift. Lovely flowers will bloom on the pillow with your light hand. It is not difficult to make them if you have some supply of multi-colored floss threads.
Handmade is at the peak of its popularity. Knitted napkins and ottomans, ruffles and braids, all kinds of embroidery and patchwork – all these handmade accessories are now appropriate not only in … They allow you to fill absolutely any interior with warmth and comfort.
To decorate the pillow we need:
– pillowcase,
– multi-colored floss threads,
– scissors,
– a needle, threads – for attaching thread “flowers”,
– beads, beads, buttons and ribbons – for additional decoration.
It remains to remember how pom-poms are made. You probably know this technique since your school days.
Woolen thread or floss is wound in several layers on fingers or on a bobbin.
The more layers, the fluffier the future “flower” will be.
Keep in mind that the size of the skein is the diameter of the future “flower”.
You can wind a thread of not one, but several colors at once.
Then our future “flower” will turn out to be multi-colored.
2. We intercept the skein in the middle
The resulting “cocoon” is intercepted with the same thread in the middle, wrapped and tied several times.
It turns out the core of our “flower”.
By the way: according to the same principle, a beautiful terry bow (referred to in English-language sources as Pom-pom) is made for wrapping gifts. To do this, instead of threads, a tape is taken that can keep its shape. It is wound in rings, intercepted in the middle with a wire or ribbon and then gently straightened into a delightful ball.
Then the two formed loops of the thread “bow” are cut with scissors so that even brushes are obtained.
The tassels are once again tightly intercepted across the middle with a thread, trying to get something like the letter “X”.
This will then allow us to fluff the brushes evenly and create a circle.
By the way: if you then fold this brush in half and intercept the middle with a thread, you get a dense and beautiful brush, which can also be used to decorate a pillow.

4. Attach brushes to the pillowcase
Now the brushes need to be fluffed, giving them a round shape, ironed with an iron and sewn to the pillowcase.
From multi-colored felt, buttons of beads can be made for the flowers in the middle.
Leaves can be cut out of green felt.
A braid or ribbon will also help to decorate the pillow – you can put it along the seam or lay out a beautiful pattern around the “flowers”.
By the way, if you take thick red woolen threads and make voluminous pompons out of them, with which you can then decorate a beige pillow, you will have a beautiful accessory in the Scandinavian style.
