The code of ethics of a practical psychologist is a set of ethical rules that is mandatory in the work of a practical psychologist.

Due to the fact that practical psychology includes very different and specific areas of activity (work at school with children; psychotherapeutic work with people experiencing serious life difficulties; developing instrumental and personal trainings with psychologically adults and mentally healthy people), there are various codes of ethics that reflect the specifics of the work of a practical psychologist in this field.

The Code of Ethics of the Russian Psychological Society reflects the specifics of the work of a practical psychologist, who is primarily engaged in psychological assistance and correctional work in the format of individual work or, more rarely, in the format of a small psychological group. Psychological assistance is provided mainly to people experiencing certain life difficulties and problems, so the work of a psychologist in this area requires special delicacy, caution, must take into account the high anxiety of clients and their concern about the data that may be in the hands of a psychologist as a result of deep psychological examination.
