Great news for people with kidney disease was announced by German scientists. Based on the studies carried out, experts have established that the use of cocoa protects patients in this category from heart failure. According to doctors, people suffering from kidney disease often die from the heart failure that accompanies the disease.

To maintain their health, they have to systematically go to dialysis to saturate the body with important nutrients – catechin and epicatechin. But these two most important components are present in the composition of the familiar cocoa. If you include cocoa in your diet, you can achieve better health, doctors say. Scientists have confirmed the veracity of these words in the course of research. They were assisted by 26 participants with kidney disease. They were divided into two groups. The people in one have successfully supplemented the diet with cocoa for a month. Members of the other maintained nutrient levels with a placebo.

Here is the result: the respondents who were in the first control group had lower blood pressure and stabilized blood flow. The rest of the similar changes were not noticed. Curiously, chocolate, which is abundant in cocoa, does not have a similar effect on the work of the heart, since it does not contain catechins and epicatechins.
