Can you actually keep plants in the bedroom?

It is generally accepted that they can be harmful to health. Yes, and a bad omen.

Houseplants decorate any interior and add coziness and attractiveness to the environment. As you know, greenery is the guarantor of beauty even for the oldest apartments. But where to place the plants in the house? Yes, almost everywhere, because there are types of flowers that feel great even in the bathroom. The only dilemma concerns the bedroom.

It is believed that plants in the room where you sleep can be harmful to your health. Mainly due to the carbon dioxide emitted during the night. But if you think carefully: the amount of flower carbon dioxide can hardly harm a sleeping person. On this score, numerous studies were carried out, in which even NASA participated. And they confirm the beneficial function of indoor plants to clean the air from the pollution present in it from the street or from the remains of detergents.

Among the substances that are internal pollutants and the most harmful to health are benzene, formaldehyde and ammonia. And plant varieties have been identified that can destroy this type of pollutant and make the home healthy, including the bedroom: ivy, fern, aloe and orchid. The latter, by the way, despite its apparent tenderness, is actually a real force in the absorption of potentially toxic formaldehydes.

Therefore, the researchers conclude that plants in the bedroom are not harmful to health. But they clarify: if their number is proportional to the size of the environment. Plants in the bedroom provide a relaxing effect that allows you to relax and fight insomnia. Green color and contact with nature actually help relieve tension and improve mood. Just avoid fragrant varieties – they can not only disrupt your sleep, but also cause migraines, and even nausea upon waking up. It is also important to consider that plants are best placed near a window or door, which is preferably left open.

However, feng shui experts strongly advise against placing plants in the bedroom. It is considered unacceptable to mix the energy of the owners and living plants in the room where they sleep, since the bedroom is a special place. If you still do not see your life without flowers, then put no more than one pot in your rest room, or even better, just hang a picture of flowers on the wall.

By the way

Feng Shui experts believe that there are no bad colors – there are plants placed in the wrong places. And if you correctly arrange the pots with herbs, then you will have both happiness and good luck.
