Buenos Aires will be the new Ibero-American Capital of Gastronomy

The candidate has been chosen mainly for her important creative work in the gastronomic field and above all for the quality of her cuisine.

Buenos Aires will be the relay of the Extremaduran city, of the award granted by the Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy, showing off this distinction to know how to disseminate its gastronomic culture to the whole world as they already did on previous occasions, cities such as Mérida, Guanajuato , or Córdoba.

The designation of the Argentine capital was announced by the City’s Tourism Authority, together with the Argentine and Ibero-American Academies of Gastronomy and the country’s Ministry of Tourism.

Throughout next year, 2017, the organizers of the candidacy will prepare different activities in which gastronomic experiences can be experienced to attract a greater number of visitors to the city and therefore to its hospitality establishments.

Gastronomy as an engine of economic growth

These types of actions are clearly beneficial for the productive sector of a city and more specifically the hotelier.

The Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy promotes the promotion of research and, above all, the protection of the kitchens and gastronomic activities typical of the different Ibero-American regions and peoples, which is why it is a clear animator of economic activity with its designations.

The cities chosen during the last 3 years have perfectly known how to align the purity of their traditions with the most avant-garde modernity in gastronomy, in order to bring together the perfect pairing for tourism, travel, leisure and gastronomy.

In the words of its councilor, the Argentine Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Santos, these premises were outlined that would surely help the city and the country to their social and economic growth after some very complicated years.

Therefore, a very culinary year awaits us where the already widespread Argentine cuisine throughout the plant will surely not cease to amaze us with its new trends and especially acts that will cover the celebrations of the capital of 2017.
