Bikinis for children: Liz Hurley not in lace?

The British actress, who has just launched her new collection of children’s swimwear, is once again accused of sexualizing little girls.

Si leopard and animal prints are the big trend this spring, including for the little ones (this will also be the subject of my next post), there are a few rules to respect so as not to fall into kitsch or vulgarity (especially for our children). And this is precisely what Internet users reproach Elisabeth Hurley, since the presentation, a few days ago, of her new collection of bikinis for little girls on Twitter. The followers of the British actress consider, in fact, the cuts of these swimsuits much too sexy and the inappropriate patterns for girls.. Destructive comments like “Leopard print bikinis for KIDS?” Or “A triangle bikini for a child is not good.” Why sexualize them? Let them be children ”have mushroomed on her page.

So I decided to take a look at his online sales site to get my own opinion. If the majority of the models are rather refined and cute, 2-3 bikinis, which can be found in both the under 8 and 8-13 age category, may at first glance appear alluring. A little girl in a leopard swimsuit, that can be shocking … But when you think twice, we say to ourselves that we would certainly have reacted differently if it were giraffe or Norman cow prints! It’s all a question of fabric and perception! Liz Hurley offers just one or two piece swimsuits, like many other brands, and not thongs for little girls. There, the scandal would have been, in my opinion, legitimate.

Our kids collection is divine too. Here it is in the gorgeous @Harrodspic.twitter.com/QjIovnHfxV

Seeing evil everywhere, weren’t we torturing our minds? And then, it’s all a question of attitude. No suggestive poses to report on Elisabeth Hurley’s site. We are far from the eroticized pictures of the French Vogue magazine, published in December 2010, where a very young model, took sensual poses! Seeing women adopt seductive poses in the pages of women sometimes revolts me, so children !!

If some imitation games are harmless in the private sphere (putting on makeup like mom, putting on her heels), they are much less so in public spaces. And it is important to explain it to your child. “Daughter, you won’t go to school with those false eyelashes!” There is a time for everything ! No ?

This is not the first time that Liz Hurley has been accused of participating in the hypersualization of children. In 2012, already, during the presentation of her previous collection of swimsuits for little girls, she had caused an uproar within associations for the protection of children. But this first bad buzz does not seem to have slowed down his creativity. We are waiting to see his next line of jerseys. Hoping that she doesn’t go too far anyway …
