Baby Skiing Safe
Altitude side

At the mountain, avoid using a front or back baby carrier during your walks. Indeed, at altitude, Baby risks compressions in the legs and arms.

The pediatricians are categorical, a healthy child under 12 months of age can, without problem, stay untilà1200 meters. Then you can take it up to 1800 meters.

Do not take a cable car or chairlift, the change in altitude would be too sudden.

The drop in the humidity level of the air at altitude makes your child’s skin more sensitive to aggressions and dryness. So make sure he drinks at least 1 liter of water per day to prevent it from becoming dehydrated. If you reach the ski resort by car, take breaks during the ascent. So the baby’s body gradually adapts. Give him a drink regularly to keep his ears from hurting.

The great mountain air and the altitude may turn Baby on and her nights may be hectic at first, but everything will be fine in a few days.

Temperature side

In the mountains, in winter, go out with Baby only in the sunniest hours, between 10 a.m. and 14 p.m., it is there that it is the hottest.

Cover it well with a bonnet who properly hides his ears, a scarf that protects his nose and mouth from mittens and boots waterproof and very hot.

Sun side

apply a first layer of total screen on Baby’s face 30 minutes before exposure and repeat the operation regularly every 2 or 3 hours.

Coat her lips with anti-chapping ointment and never expose it to direct sunlight.

Protect his eyes with sun protection glasses soft-rimmed. Note that “glacier” type glasses protect the sides against UV rays and wind, but limit the field of vision.
