Anti-Covid vaccination: soon possible for those over 12?

Are anti-Covid vaccines safe in children? Have they shown good efficacy? In March, the laboratory Pfizer BioNTech has performedclinical trials in adolescents.  The results show that their anti-Covid vaccine presents great security. This is why the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should authorize its use as of May 10 in young Americans over 12 years old.

And the other laboratories?

Laboratories Modern et Johnson & Johnson report the results of their trials in adolescents and children this summer.

Many parents are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to have their children vaccinated. Especially just before the resumption of the school year next September.

In France, where are we?

In France, several laboratories are also carrying out clinical studies on adolescents over 12 years old.

For epidemiologists, the vaccination of children is essential to get, perhaps, to obtain thecollective immunity. This will only be achieved if 69% of French people aged 0 to 64 are vaccinated, et si 90% of over 65s are. For the moment, we are far from it!

On the other hand, if children rarely have severe forms, vaccinating them would protect the most vulnerable people. Without forgetting that, even in the population of the youngest, there are, for example, immunocompromised.
