All About False Hunger: 10 Reasons We Overeat

Do you often sit down at the table “for the company”? Or do you eat in front of the TV out of habit? Buying a sweet bar at the checkout, succumbing to the tricks of the managers? You are trapped in false hunger. 

What are the most common causes of overeating?

Reason 1. Out of boredom.

XNUMX-hour access to a refrigerator is fraught with home workers and housewives on maternity leave or temporarily unemployed. Especially if the kitchen is a meter away from the sofa – lie to yourself and eat. Calorie counting and a clear menu will save you. And willpower is absolutely impossible without it!

 

Reason 2. On the run.

There is absolutely no time to sit down and have a solid lunch. And some even have breakfast. You can have a coffee with a croissant on the go, and a hamburger will save you at work. Homemade food prepared the day before and bowls with tight-fitting lids will help.

Reason 3. Sadness-melancholy.

Mostly women are subject to this temptation: they felt sad – they ate an ice cream. And if you replace sweets with a fitness room? Not only will it distract from food and sad thoughts, but also a bonus – a beautiful figure and a healthy body!

Reason 4. Nobody loves me.

This is almost sadness – abandoned, driven by everyday life or in fact alone, with low self-esteem and giving up on the extra pounds already available – “this piece of cake doesn’t solve anything”. It will help you understand that, in fact, any piece of any food that enters your stomach decides a lot. Urgently raise your self-esteem in any way possible!

Reason 5. As a reward.

We set ourselves a goal and food acts as motivation. When I finish the report, I’ll have a cake for dinner. I’ll work for a week, and I’ll allow myself an anlim dinner in a restaurant. Of course, the search for a different incentive helps – give yourself an experience! Cinema, theater, walk, trip, meeting interesting people.

Reason 6. Stuck in stress.

This reason is physiological. When stressed, our bodies carefully store fat and make our brains beg for food over and over again. It will help to lean on vitamins A, B, C and E – greens, orange vegetables and fruits, vegetable oil, liver, nuts.

Reason 7. Uncontrolled fun.

First, you come to the party, promising yourself a glass of wine and low-fat snacks, and now your plate is bursting with delicacies and the alcohol is constantly renewed in the glass. If this is an isolated case, write down this day in your cheat meal and forget it as a bad dream the next day. If history repeats itself, change your lifestyle.

Reason 8. It is inconvenient to refuse.

The hospitable hostess set the table, and for you separately cooked up your favorite dish earlier – and very high in calories. I don’t want to offend, but it’s a pity for the efforts spent on this long path of proper nutrition. Feed yourself generously, but eat little while praising. Nobody is watching your plate.

Reason 9. On the machine.

As a child, my mother and grandmother were forced to eat every last crumb, and in order to be allowed to walk outside, they demanded a clean plate. Nobody asked about your desires. Now it’s time to grow up and master your appetite. Buy smaller plates, do not buy junk food at home, which is convenient to intercept on occasion.

Reason 10. This is the latter.

Today I’ll eat a cake – tomorrow I’ll go on a diet. Evening with a beer – tomorrow to the gym, I will work. On vacation, I allow myself everything, but I will return home and change everything. Such last times replace each other, not having time to end. There is only one way out – to pull yourself together not in half an hour, but right now!
