9,5 thousand dollars: the world’s most expensive candy was made

The most expensive candy in the world was recently presented at the Obidos Chocolate Show in Portugal. The diamond-shaped gold candy is called “Glorious”, which means “glorious”, “delicious”.

Priced at € 7728 (US $ 9500), this edible gold-plated chocolate treat is part of a limited edition of 1000 chocolates.

The diamond-shaped candy consists of Valron’s equatorial dark chocolate, saffron, Perigord white truffle, white truffle oil, Madagascar vanilla, 23K gold edible flakes and a secret ingredient.

The packaging of this expensive delicacy is no less chic. It is crafted from a black lacquered wood base with a gold serial number engraving and plated with thousands of Swarovski crystals and pearls on a gold handle.

The $ 9489 chocolate candy was created by the famous Portuguese chocolatier Daniel Gomes. He confirmed that this candy has been certified as “World’s Most Expensive Candy” by the Guinness Book of Records.

By the way, earlier the record holder was the Danish chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt, who in 2017 received the title for the “La Madeline au Truffe” truffle candy worth 250 US dollars.
