5 rules for drinking champagne

What are the rules for drinking the festive drink itself? 

1. Do not overcool

The optimum temperature for champagne is 10 degrees. Ice wine from the freezer is wrong, as is champagne at room temperature.

2. Open slowly

It is advisable to open the champagne slowly, pulling out the cork gradually. The more bubbles remain in the bottle, the more aromatic and tasty the drink will be.

 

3. Drink from a large glass 

For some reason, we are used to drinking champagne from tall narrow glasses. But winemakers claim that champagne reveals its entire spectrum of aromas in deep and wide dishes. Wine glasses or special sparkling wine glasses are suitable. Hold the stem of the glass to keep the champagne from overheating from the warmth of your hands.

4. Do not shake

For the same reason as the gradual opening of the bottle, the champagne glass should not be shaken to get rid of the bubbles. It is they who are the main source of flavor and aroma shades, when they run out, it will look like cheap wine.

5. Accompany your favorite meal

Champagne is one of the few drinks that can be drunk without snacks or with any dish, be it gourmet oysters or everyday pizza. Nothing can spoil the taste of sparkling wine, so choose an accompaniment to your liking.
