Joint pain is one of the most common, but also the most burdensome conditions in everyday life. No wonder that we can find dozens of different types of preparations on the market to improve the condition of the joints. One of them is 4Flex from the Valeant company, sold in the form of sachets. Read about 4Flex and its types.

4Flex – composition and action

4Flex preparation is a dietary supplement for adults who want to take care of the health of their joints. The ingredients of the preparation are natural collagen proteins and vitamin C. Thanks to collagen without cholesterol, fat, purines, gluten and vitamin C, cartilage and bone tissue can function properly. 4Flex slows down the wear of cartilage and strengthens the joints.

4Flex preparation soothes joint discomfort. People using it, especially older people and athletes, appreciate it for improving the quality of life. It is also useful for obese people and those who suffer from any joint ailments. The effectiveness of the drug is confirmed by clinical trials. What distinguishes 4Flex from other similar preparations is the content of pure collagen, thanks to which the reconstruction of cartilage tissue is effective.

We talk about degenerative changes in joints when the layer of cartilage that surrounds the ends of bones that touch each other degenerates. Then the cartilage stops absorbing the friction caused by the movement and the bones rub against each other, which causes damage and pain. This state of affairs can have many reasons, although the most common indications are the deterioration in the efficiency of metabolic processes in the body caused by age, as well as excessive strain on the joints caused by, for example, physical work or competitive sports.

The composition of the composition depends on the version of the preparation – variants such as 4flex Complex, 4flex Silver for the elderly or 4flex Sport are available on the market.

4Flex PureGel – dosage and duration of treatment

4Flex PureGel should be applied topically to the skin 4 to 5 times a day at intervals of several hours. The dose depends on the area affected, most often a strip of gel approximately 4 cm long should be used. The maximum daily dose of naproxen is 1000 mg.

Due to the lack of data on the safety and efficacy of the product in children and adolescents, the target group should be limited to adults.

The duration of treatment depends on the type of disease and the effectiveness of treatment, usually no longer than a few weeks (usually up to 4 weeks). If pain and swelling do not improve or worsen after 1 week of using the medicinal product, the patient should contact a physician.

4Flex PureGel – contraindications and precautions

The main contraindication to the use of 4Flex PureGel ointment is hypersensitivity to drug components, especially naproxen. 4Flex PureGel should not be used on damaged skin, open wounds, inflammations of the skin, mucous membranes and eyes. If 4Flex PureGel gets into the eyes or on mucous membranes, remove the gel by rinsing thoroughly with water.

4Flex PureGel should be used with caution when it is applied to large areas of the skin for a long time, as systemic adverse reactions may occur. Due to the possibility of absorption of naproxen into the bloodstream, special care should be taken when:

  1. liver failure
  2. kidney failure
  3. gastrointestinal ulceration,
  4. hemorrhagic diathesis.

During the treatment period and 2 weeks after the end of treatment, you should avoid direct sunlight and tanning in the solarium.

The use of naproxen in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy requires careful consideration by the physician of the potential benefits for the mother and the fetus. The use of the drug in the third trimester of pregnancy is contraindicated. The drug should not be used during breastfeeding.

Due to the low absorption of naproxen through the skin into the bloodstream, there is no risk of overdosing or poisoning with 4Flex PureGel.
