10 weird reactions our bodies have
Our body sometimes has surprising reactions that can be annoying or unpleasant. Here are 10!

Most of the time benign, strange physical reactions sometimes make us feel like we are not in control of our own body.

1. Goosebumps

Whether it’s a simple gust of wind or music that moves us, goose bumps appear when we stand on end. It is called piloerection and its appearance on the skin is caused by a change in temperature..

2. Whistling ears

It is said that when our ears ring, it means that a person is saying bad things about us. Rather, it is tinnitus, which mainly affects the elderly and those who are exposed to noise (public works, nightclub, etc.). These whistles can also be triggered during a single exposure to a violent noise (detonation for example) or when taking certain drugs. To avoid this type of inconvenience, the best precaution remains a preventive measure : avoid exposure to very high sound volumes and wear earplugs®.

3. Grinding teeth

Sleeping next to someone with grinding teeth can be unbearable! In 80% of cases, bruxism occurs at night. It is manifested by rubbing the teeth which can cause early wear of the enamel and dentin, reach the nerve and even cause a fracture of the tooth. One solution: wear aligners.

4. Cracking bones

Whether voluntary or involuntary, our joints sometimes crack. Why ? Because they are lubricated with each other by the synovial fluid that is filled with small gas bubbles that, on exploding, produce the crackle. Don’t worry, this is absolutely not dangerous for your health.

5. Hiccups

You don’t necessarily have to have drunk too much to have hiccups! You can also end up with this succession of spasmodic contractions of the diaphragm when you swallow food that is too cold, too hot or irritating. To get rid of this mild but annoying and noisy reaction to say the least, all you have to do is lower your oxygen level in the blood and increase the level of carbon dioxide, by blocking your breathing for as long as possible, for example.

6. The popping eyelid

Without gravity, the fasciculations are manifested by a tremor of the eyelid. Several factors exist: fatigue, stress, taking certain medications, etc.. There is no treatment but it is advisable to consult a doctor if the symptom persists or appears too often.

7. Fingers wrinkled in the water

When you get out of your hot tub, your fingers are usually wrinkled. Is this a sign that you have suddenly aged? Of course not : this would be a natural reaction that would allow us to have a better grip in a humid environment.

8. Tears when cutting an onion

The peeling chore is often tedious and can quickly make you cry when it comes to removing the skin from an onion. If you can’t hold back your tears, it’s normal: it’s because of a chemical reaction. The onion indeed produces an irritant gas, which turns into sulfuric acid and causes the tear fluid to flow.

9. Ants in the legs

Often times, if you feel like ants in your legs, you are numb because a nerve has been compressed. This benign reaction can also be related to a metabolic pathology. like diabetes or carpal tunnel syndrome, stroke, etc… To watch out for.

10. Reddened skin

“She stuck a make-up” is what we say of a too shy person who suddenly starts to blush. This physical reaction can also happen under stress or anger. and is difficult to control, since it is the dilation of the capillaries, the blood vessels of the face, caused by a discharge of adrenaline. It is usually accompanied by sweaty hands and a pounding heart.
