Work at the summer cottage in September

EARLY VITAMIN

Victory onion, also known as Siberian wild garlic, is an unpretentious, beautiful and very useful plant both fresh and pickled. It is now easy to find bulbs on sale in nurseries, they are inexpensive, it makes sense to buy 100-200 bulbs at once. Lay them every 15–20 cm when planting. And the main charm of this plant is that it can plant the most shady and waterlogged areas, where even weeds grow reluctantly. And in early spring, after the snow melts, when there are only last year’s brown leaves around, you will get a wonderful, green, vitamin meadow blooming with white balls.

MINTED CARPET

In shady, but slightly sunnier places, you can plant Siberian grove – in small groups of 10-15 pieces. In a few years, the plantings will merge into a wonderful blue carpet. It is possible to lay plantings of woodlands every five centimeters. On the same shady plots, you can add a forest lily of the valley, a bathing suit, a kupena, a coin loosestrife, a marsh marigold and an apical pachisandra – a spring blooming carpet will look great. Other small-bulbous plants, such as muscari, kandyk, galanthus (snowdrops), crocuses, pushkinia, will also perfectly fit into the ensemble. When planting, keep in mind: during the growth, flowering and ripening of the bulbs (about a month and a half after flowering), you cannot mow the grass on the site, otherwise you will have to plant again next year.

EASY CARE

Small-bulbous plants are planted until mid-September, they take about three weeks to root. Planting depth – three heights of the bulb, counting from the bottom. Plants planted in this way will grow well for many years. If the nests grow too large, then they must be divided, as the bulbs become smaller and the flowers weaken. It is useful in the spring, immediately after the snow melts, to feed the flower bed with nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizer.
