Why shouldn’t you throw away the pit of an avocado?

It’s amazing, but it’s a fact: there are even more useful substances in the avocado seed than in its pulp worthy of all praise! The avocado seed contains 70% of the antioxidants of the entire fruit, including super-healthy polyphenols. The antioxidants found in the avocado pit are good for digestion and can even fight cancer. In addition, avocado seeds are high in fiber. Finally, it contains a special vegetable oil that helps increase the amount of collagen in the skin – is it necessary to remind that this has a positive effect on the appearance, not only of the skin itself, but also of the hair?

How to deal with an avocado pit? Easier than it looks! You just need to cut the seed into four parts with a knife. Then you can grind the kernel in a food processor or even in a coffee grinder – just first make sure that the unit chosen for this mission is strong enough and will not suffer!

As a result, you will get a bitter paste (bitter because it is rich in tannins): it must be kneaded into smoothies or juice. We warn you: an avocado seed is so “charged” with useful substances that you should not eat it all at once, half is enough.

If you eat a lot of avocados and want to somehow preserve their seeds, it is best to dry the paste obtained in the blender, turning it into flour. This can be done in a special dehydrator, or simply by placing a plate of pasta on the window for a couple of days (if the window faces the sunny side).

Be healthy!
