What time do you put your child to sleep during the day: breastfeeding, a year, at 2 years
Sometimes the problem arises of how to put the child to sleep during the day. The methods of exposure may be different depending on the age of the baby.
Sleep is important for an infant, especially at an early age. The physical and mental health of the child depends on it. The baby should sleep during the first 2 months during the day for 7-8 hours, from 3-5 months – 5 hours, and at 8-9 months – 2 times for 1,5 hours. These norms were established by pediatricians to make it easier for mothers to navigate in the child’s mode.
If a newborn does not sleep during the day, there are good reasons:
- Discomfort in the stomach and intestines, such as colic or bloating. Mom needs to monitor the baby’s nutrition, massage the tummy and put a gas outlet tube, if necessary.
- Diapers. They need to be changed every 2-3 hours so that the accumulated moisture does not bother the baby.
- Hunger or thirst. The baby may be “undernourished.”
- Change in weather, change in temperature or humidity in the room.
- Extraneous sounds and strong odors.
Make sure your baby is comfortable and satisfying every need before you lay down.
Falling asleep problems per year
According to the norms, a one-year-old child needs to get about 2 hours of daytime sleep, but the child sometimes does not strive for this. Problems may be associated with the fact that the baby is completely uninteresting to let go of the exhausted mother. He will go to various tricks, trying to attract attention to himself.
When the baby is about 2, his sleep standards are 1,5 hours. Sometimes it is easier for a mother to refuse to lay her baby for the day than to spend several hours on it. Despite the relativity of sleep norms, the child needs a day’s rest.
What time and how to put the child to bed
Make sure your baby is comfortable and clear of obstructions before laying down. A one-year-old child can be prepared for bed with a light massage, tell him a story or take a relaxing bath. This works with older children as well.
The regime works well. If you put the baby to bed after a walk and lunch at the same hours, then he will develop a reflex.
Often, the child “over-walks”, that is, gets tired so much that it is difficult for him to fall asleep. In this case, 2 things work:
- Track your baby’s condition. As soon as you notice signs of fatigue, put him to bed.
- An excited baby cannot be put to sleep right away. Do half an hour preparation.
A smooth massage and a calm fairy tale will do the trick.
The older the child is, the more heroic efforts the mother will have to make to make him fall asleep. There are no rigid norms for daytime sleep, but the baby needs it. With sleep problems in infants, you need to see a doctor.
