Useful tips from Jamie Oliver

1) To get rid of fruit stains on your fingers, rub them with peeled potatoes or soak them in white vinegar.

2) Citrus fruits and tomatoes should not be stored in the refrigerator – due to low temperatures, their taste and aroma disappear. 3) If you are not ready to use all the milk at once, add a pinch of salt to the bag – then the milk will not turn sour. 4) To descale an electric kettle, pour ½ cup of vinegar and ½ cup of water into it, boil it, then wash the kettle under running water. 5) To prevent an unpleasant smell from appearing in an empty plastic container, throw a pinch of salt into it. 6) The water in which potatoes or pasta have been boiled can be used for watering indoor plants – this water contains many nutrients. 7) To keep the lettuce fresh, wrap it in a paper kitchen towel and place it in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. 8) If you over-salted the soup, add some peeled potatoes – it will absorb excess salt. 9) If the bread starts to go stale, put a piece of fresh celery next to it. 10) If your rice is burnt, put a piece of white bread on it and leave for 5-10 minutes – the bread will “pull out” the unpleasant smell and taste. 11) Ripe bananas are best stored separately, and unripe bananas in a bunch. : jamieoliver.com : Lakshmi
