The symptoms of migraine

In most cases, the seizure migraine occurs without warning signs. In some people, however, the seizure is preceded by hate or a few warning signs, which vary from person to person. The same person can have seizures without aura, and others with aura.

The aura

This neurological phenomenon lasts from 5 to 60 minutes, then the headache appears. So the person knows in advance that in a few minutes he will have a bad headache. However, sometimes the aura is not followed by a migraine. The aura can manifest itself in different ways.

The main symptoms

Here are the main symptoms of a migraine attack. Typically, they last 4 to 72 hours.

Watch out for certain symptoms

It is recommended to see a doctor:

  • if it is a first severe headache;
  • in the event of a headache very different from the usual migraines or unusual symptoms (fainting, loss of vision, difficulty walking or speaking);
  • when migraines are more and more painful;
  • when they are triggered through exercise, sex, sneezing or coughing (note that it is normal for a migraine already present to intensifies during these activities);
  • when headaches occur as a result of injury in the head.
