The man buried ten adopted children: Mohammed Bzik only adopts the terminally ill

Los Angeles resident adopts terminally ill children.

Surviving the death of a child is one of the most difficult challenges in life. Even if the child is adopted. Libyan Mohammed Bzik, who lives in Los Angeles, has already buried ten children. Everyone lives well in his house. The fact is that Mohammed adopts only seriously ill children.

“There are over 35 children registered with the Los Angeles Department of Family and Children, and 000 of them are in need of medical attention. And Mohammed is the only adoptive parent who is not afraid to adopt sick children, ”said Assistant Regional Health Insurance Administrator Rosella Youzif in an interview with Hello magazine.

The daughter lived only a week

It all started back in the 80s, when Mohammed met his future wife Don Bzik. While still a student, she took care of children who were in a difficult life situation. After Mohammed married Don, they adopted several more sick children.

The first death happened in 1991 – then a girl died with a terrible pathology of the spine. The doctors never promised that the baby’s life would be easy or long, but the couple decided to adopt the girl anyway. For several months Don and Mohammed came to their senses, and then decided that only “special” children would be adopted. “Yes, we knew that they were seriously ill and would soon die, but we wanted to do our best for them, to give them a happy life. It doesn’t matter how many – years or weeks, ”said Mohammed.

One of the adopted girls lived only a week after she was taken from the hospital. The couple ordered clothes to bury their daughter in the atelier, because it was the size of a doll, the girl was so small.

“I love each adopted child as my own”

In 1997, Don gave birth to her own child. Son Adam was born with a congenital pathology, in which the environment of the couple found the mockery of fate. Now Adam is already 20 years old, but he weighs no more than three dozen kilograms: the boy has osteogenesis imperfecta. This means that his bones are very fragile and can literally break from touch. His parents told him that his brothers and sisters are also special and need to be stronger.

Since then, Mohammed has buried his own wife and nine other adopted children.

Now Mohammed is single-handedly raising his own son and a seven-year-old girl who suffers from a rare brain defect called a craniocerebral hernia. She is a completely unusual child: her arms and legs are paralyzed, the girl does not hear or see anything. Bzik is a real father for her, because he took the girl from the hospital when she was only a month old. And since then she has been doing everything possible to make her life more comfortable and happier. “I know that she does not hear and does not see, but I still talk to her. I hold her hand, I play with her. She has feelings, a soul. ” Mohammed told The Times that he had already buried three children who had the same diagnosis.

The state helps a man support his children by paying $ 1700 a month. But this is hardly enough, because expensive medications are needed, and often treatment in clinics.

“I know the children are going to die soon. Despite this, I want to give them love so that they live in a house, not in a shelter. I love each child as my own. “
