It has a cap with a width of 1 to 5 cm, shaped like a small vase, consisting of several concentric discs overlapping each other. The outer edges are smoothed. At telephora clove a smooth surface with diverging veins visible, sometimes there may be uneven rough areas. The color of the cap can be of all shades of brown or dark purple, when dried, the color fades quickly, the fungus brightens, and the color becomes uneven (zoned). The edges are lobed or unevenly torn.

The leg may be completely absent or very short, it can be both eccentric and central, the color matches the hat.

The mushroom has a thin flesh of deep brown color, pronounced taste and smell are absent. Spores are quite long, lobed or in the form of angular ellipses.

Telephora clove grows in groups or singly, common in coniferous forests. The growing season runs from mid-July to autumn.

The mushroom belongs to the category of inedible.

Compared to the terrestrial telephora, this fungus is not so widespread, it is found in the Akmola and Almaty regions. Also in other regions, it is often found in coniferous forests.

This species can have a large number of different forms and variations, which are often called differently, but it is quite difficult to confuse it with other varieties found in the area if you understand the range of all variations. Thelephora terrestris has a similarly shaped cap, but it is thicker and coarser in texture.
