Still do not know the importance of eating healthy and exercising?

We constantly hear the importance of eating right and exercising, but why is it so important?

Mainly, for two reasons: first, eating well and exercising regularly helps you maintain your ideal weight, feel more energetic and spirited, be happier and even have a longer life, that is, it generates great benefits.

However, leaving aside the advantages, it is often necessary to explain the disadvantages of not doing so in order to understand the importance of, in this case, diet and exercise.

We mean the multitude of diseases and problems caused by poor diet and sedentary lifestyle, which is nothing other than that way of life characterized by the lack of physical exercise.

Illnesses and other problems caused by poor diet

  • Diabetes
  • Osteoporosis
  • Colon cancer
  • Overweight and obesity
  • Hypertension
  • Hypercholesterolemia
  • Drop
  • Cavities
  • Cardiovascular diseases

These are just some of the consequences of eating a poor diet. To avoid them, it is necessary to follow a “healthy diet”, although the goal should always be that healthy eating becomes a lifestyle, rather than a diet that can last one or two months.

Y by diet or healthy eating we mean one that has the following characteristics:

  1. It must be complete, providing carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, fats, minerals and water.
  2. Balanced, in such a way that the nutrients are distributed proportionally.
  3. Enough, eating the right amount of food. It is also not advisable to eat excessively.
  4. Adapted for the age, sex or physical activity that each person performs.
  5. And, finally, varied, and must contain foods from each group: dairy, fruits, meats, etc.

Diseases and other problems related to sedentary lifestyle

And as for diseases or other problems caused by sedentary lifestyle, the following stand out:

  • Obesity
  • Heart disease
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Stroke
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Diabetes type 2
  • Certain types of cancer
  • Osteoporosis and falls
  • Depression and anxiety

All of these occur as a result of burning fewer calories, losing muscle mass and stamina, having weaker bones, an impaired metabolism, a less effective immune system, poor blood circulation, increased inflammation of the body, or a hormonal imbalance. All this leads to the diseases mentioned, and others.

When exercising, you should take into account your age. From 18 years of age, strength, coordination and resistance exercises are recommended, while from 30 to 40 (with the exception of athletes) people should guide their exercise to maintain good cardiovascular health.

On the other hand, from the age of 40 it is recommended to avoid high impact sports, others such as cycling or yoga being more beneficial for health. And finally, from the age of 50, sports such as swimming or walking are recommended, although of course this is simply an orientation and depends largely on the health of each person.

To conclude, we highlight that what is not in discussion is the importance of following a balanced diet and doing physical exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, which will help you not only avoid the problems and diseases mentioned, but also allow you to benefit. of all the advantages explained at the beginning of this post.
