Silicone kitchen utensils appeared in our country about a dozen years ago, they are becoming more and more popular with housewives, because these dishes have a lot of advantages. You can cook in silicone pans (the material is strong enough to withstand the heat of the oven) and freeze food in it, it can also be used for cooking in the microwave.

Advantages of silicone molds

One of the indisputable advantages of silicone molds over ordinary kitchen utensils is their flexibility. These dishes are very easy to store as they do not take up much space. The forms can be flattened, rolled into a tube, they will not suffer from this, the dishes will instantly take their shape when you take them out of the cabinet.

The second valuable quality is that no rust forms on the silicone cookware. In addition, carbon deposits do not appear on the walls during use, as on metal molds. Silicone molds are easy to wash – just rinse under running warm water using any detergent. Are they dishwasher safe? Undoubtedly.

And finally, silicone cookware is incredibly lightweight, almost weightless. Nothing sticks to it during baking. The molds cool down quickly so you can remove the baked goods with ease.

How to use silicone molds

Before baking, it is recommended to wash the dishes in warm soapy water and then dry them. Please note that the molds are very soft, so you will need to place them on a baking sheet to avoid spilling the contents. Place small muffin or muffin tins in special baking trays.

Although silicone cools down quickly enough, it heats up just as quickly, so take precautions when removing baked goods from the oven. By the way, very strong and comfortable potholders are produced from silicone, which can be used when removing hot molds from the oven.
