Rubella – Our doctor’s opinion

Rubella – Our doctor’s opinion

As part of its quality approach, Passeportsanté.net invites you to discover the opinion of a health professional. Dr Jacques Allard, general practitioner, gives you his opinion on the rubella :

Rubella is a mild childhood illness and can often go unnoticed. Complications are rare in children. However, the situation is quite different in unimmunized pregnant women who contract the virus during the first three months of pregnancy. Complications for the fetus can then be very serious (deafness, cataracts, heart defects, etc.). If you are pregnant, not immune to rubella, and come into contact with a case of rubella, do not hesitate to consult your doctor. He will be able to judge the appropriateness of prescribing an injection of immunoglobulin.

Finally, we must insist on the need to be vaccinated and to have their children vaccinated.
