But this is not its only pleasant feature, there are others:

  • oval tubers with a few small eyes on the surface. Fruits are almost all the same size – their average weight is 100-120 g. Skin color – from pink to dark red;
  • high-yielding variety. 15-20 tubers can be harvested from one bush;
  • gives a stable harvest that does not depend on the vagaries of nature. Changes in temperature, drought or constant rains – “Rosara” will endure everything and bring a bountiful harvest;
  • it is resistant to all potato diseases.

The fruits have dense flesh, they tolerate transportation and mechanical harvesting well. They can be stored for a long time without losing their properties.

Characteristics of the potato variety “Rosara”

This variety has a low starch content – no more than 16%. Its culinary qualities are related to this. The fruits are not boiled, retain their shape when boiled in water. This property gives them the advantage of using them in salads. But they are not suitable for first courses and side dishes, even the taste with this method of preparation is not up to par.

Rosara is ideal for frying, making chips and French fries. It is used commercially for the production of instant dry potato powder.

You can create conditions for plants in which the yield will be even greater. This is a ridged planting. The combs are cut at a distance of 80 cm from each other, each 25 cm high. This should be done in the fall, when the ground is just beginning to freeze.

In the spring, after thawing and warming up the soil, organic litter is spread in the depressions between the ridges. It can consist of extra straw, a mixture of sawdust and ash and dry grass.

This method makes it possible to plant potatoes at the end of April directly on the litter. During hilling, we form ridges in place of depressions. With this cultivation, the plants will receive more moisture and air, the root system will actively develop. You can dig up to 25 tubers from one bush of “Rosary”. You can harvest in August.
