Rice dishes on the Costa Blanca

With good weather, tourist activity is activated in the Mediterranean and more specifically on the Alicante coast.

This is the 4th edition of the gastronomic days of the city of Torrevieja, where rice becomes the protagonist of the best tables in the catering establishments of the town.

Rice dishes from Torrevieja, It brings together a great variety of elaborations, which await the visitor since Tuesday, being able to enjoy and taste, together with the sun and the Levantine beach.

The dishes that are presented in the gastronomic days are made mainly with rice in its multiple varieties, such as the a banda, the cauldron, the sailor, etc …

A total of 25 hospitality establishments are those that offer the customer until next May 22, a closed menu based on starters, rice, dessert and winery, with prices ranging between € 18 to € 30, depending on the restaurant and the type of rice.

The work of disseminating local and marine gastronomy is a fundamental activity for the coastal towns of the Mediterranean, and in this line these gastronomic days are held annually, which are highly relevant, especially from the celebrations of the first National Competition of Arroces de la Ciudad de Torrevieja, celebrated now a year ago.

An excellent opportunity to learn about Mediterranean gastronomy and especially the most well-known dish of our cuisine, internationally, which we know as paella, and that for this occasion will be covered with all the glamor of the culinary preparation of the hoteliers of the municipality of the “Torre Vigía”, which with good criteria do not call it paella but rather rice, due to the different way of preparing many of them.
