Cabbage “Provencal” is a simple and very tasty dish. Due to the presence of vinegar in it, cabbage is stored for a long time and can be used as an independent product or as an ingredient for healthy vegetable salads.

Cabbage “Provencal” – a simple recipe for a delicious dish

Cabbage “Provencal” tastes like sauerkraut, which our grandmothers harvested in oak barrels for the winter. But she prepares much faster. To make a salad, you will need:

– white cabbage (1 kg); – water (preferably mineral, without gas – 1,5 cups); – vegetable oil (0,5 cups); – vinegar (2 tbsp. L.); – salt (1 tbsp. L.); – sugar (100 g); – bay leaves (2 pcs.); – black peppercorns (5 pcs.); – whole carnation (2 pcs.); – large carrots (1 pc.).

Pour water into a saucepan, add salt, sugar, bay leaf, pepper, cloves, bring to a boil. Let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and add vinegar.

Chop cabbage and carrots, put in a bowl and cover with a mixture of vinegar, water and spices. Add vegetable oil. Mix thoroughly and place in a cool place for 2-3 hours. Salad ready. The cabbage turns out to be tasty, sweet and crispy.

Salads with cabbage “Provencal” – a storehouse of vitamins

A variety of vitamin salads can be prepared with delicious Provencal cabbage. One of them, “Brush”, not only contains vitamins, but also promotes weight loss. To make it, you will need:

– Provencal cabbage (300 g); – raw beets (200 g); – apple (2 pcs.); – celery stalks (2 pcs.); – salt (to taste); – juice of one lemon; – fresh herbs.

Beets, apples, celery stalks are cut into small strips. Add Provencal cabbage, lemon juice, chopped greens. The salad is mixed. There is no need to add oil, it is enough in the cabbage. If you use this salad for lunch or dinner instead of the main course during the week, then you can easily and effortlessly lose one and a half to two kilograms.

Another delicious salad with Provencal cabbage and smoked sausage is perfect even for a festive meal. It is done simply and quickly. You will need:

– Cabbage “Provencal” (400 g); – smoked sausage (200 g); – onion (1/2 head); – mayonnaise.

Sausage is cut into strips, onions are cut into small cubes. Cabbage is added, salad is dressed with mayonnaise to taste and mixed. There is no need to salt the dish, there is enough salt in the sausage and cabbage. This salad can be served in an original way by laying it in a slide on a dish and spreading the chips around the perimeter of the plate.
