An ordinary tablet spends only a dozen or so minutes in the stomach. It’s too short to heal. Scientists from the Medical University of Wroclaw have developed a new type of pill that floats longer on the surface of the gastric fluid – writes “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”.
The use of the so-called The flotation properties and the gradual release of medicinal substances from the tablets make it possible to treat conditions such as stomach ulcers more effectively.
Scientists from Wrocław tried to develop such a formula of lozenges, thanks to which the tablet stays in the stomach as long as possible, and thus releases its medicinal ingredients for longer.
They conducted a number of tests that were financed from the university’s own funds. Unfortunately, they ran out of resources to test the new generation tablets on living organisms.
