Perennial vines: how to grow in the garden? Video

Each of these plants has its own characteristics, and where asarina grew, for example, wisteria does not always take root, vines and flowers do not always coexist well, there are difficulties even with the selection of neighboring shrubs. Therefore, if you have recently been breeding perennial vines, try to place them away from other plants, especially since fences, walls of outbuildings and propylene arches are excellent for weaving.

Wisteria

The homeland of this beautiful plant is China, where wisteria blooms in parks gather no less people than sakura blooms in Japan or a real liana in the jungle. Gorgeous twenty-meter plants fall from the trees in huge purple inflorescences, striking the imagination with their beauty.

It is almost impossible to grow wisteria from seeds, as a rule, the sprout dies on the third sheet from common soil mold. The same disease also destroys cuttings, so wisteria is inoculated in Russia. It is better to buy vaccinations in nurseries.

In the garden, the vine will require a lot of sunny place, closed from drafts. Lime soil will destroy the plant, wisteria needs good drainage and nutrition, so it can be planted around oaks, birches, etc., but so that the crown of the tree does not block the light.

The first year the plant will be sick, this is normal. Water it regularly and loosen the soil. For the winter, be sure to cover with needles. In the spring – before the leaves appear – you need to cut off the frozen shoots and give the plant a shape. After the first leaf appears, you need to make a top dressing, which will depend on the condition of the soil in your garden.

Watch the growth in the summer. If a liana loses a leaf, it means that it does not have enough sun or moisture, small flowers are a sign of illness, and sluggish buds indicate that a rodent has settled in the roots, it will not harm the liana, but also will not allow it to develop actively.

Maiden Grapes

A climbing plant with large leaves, which take on a burgundy-red color in August-September, many gardeners love maiden grapes. It is unpretentious and functional, braiding fences, it becomes a hedge.

Maiden grapes are best planted by cuttings, they are very viable. You need to pour some sand into the pit and make a stone drainage. To avoid grape diseases, it is necessary immediately after planting to shade and water the plant well, after a couple of weeks the vine will acclimatize and give new leaves that will quickly stretch out into shoots.

The main grape care is spring pruning. It is necessary to remove excess shoots and lashes frozen over the winter. In June, the grapes need to be braided, otherwise the whips will creep throughout the garden. To restrict growth, the liana can be pinched.
