People at risk

  • People with herpes simplex virus type 1 (the majority of adults);
  • People with an immune deficiency are more prone to frequent recurrences and to prolonged herpes outbreaks. These include people who are infected with HIV / AIDS, or who are undergoing treatment for cancer or an autoimmune disease (immunosuppressive therapy).

Risk factors 

Once the virus has been contracted, various factors contribute to recurrence of symptoms :

  • Anxiety, stress and fatigue;
  • A temperature rise, following a fever or sun exposure;
  • benefits dry lips ;
  • Flu, cold or other infectious disease;
  • benefits local trauma (dental treatment, cosmetic treatment to the face, a cut, a crack);
  • In women, menstruation;
  • A bad nutrition ;
  • Taking cortisone.
